Welcome back to Star Flight Aircraft.

Dick Turner was one of the pioneers of the ultralight industry.  For nearly 20 years he was at the leading edge of the ultralight and very light aircraft development.  He and his family built some of the finest examples of these type of aircraft.  The later Star Flight aircraft models out perform many of the Light Sport or LSA aircraft of today.

As an example, the actual aircraft shown above was used as a tow plane and it was put through a full series of aerobatic testing.  After almost 10 years and just normal maintenance, this May 2009 photo shows it is still in perfect condition.  These aircraft are agile, easy to fly and strong beyond belief.  As a testament to their capability, in the mid 1980′s an earlier Star Flight model won the French World competition, it wasn’t even close.

The History tab shows the entire history of the original company.

With Dick Turner’s complete co-operation we are gearing up to build brand new complete XC series aircraft after an absense of over 10 years.  Original documentation, jigs, dies, tooling and molds have been located and are being collected together in one place.  In addition to original replacement airframe parts for the later XC, we will be able to supply hard to find items such as, adjustable seat frames.  We also have the molds for a lay back seat tank, nose bowl, wheel pants and floats for the XC’s. We have located some of the jigs for the earlier TX (aka Tristar), and the DBL models so we will be able to supply some airframe parts for them as well. This is still being organized and we expect to be in operation soon.

We will start out offering a 30 hp FAA part 103 legal light aircraft very like the TX1000 or XC280 along with a higher performance 50 hp single place version as an experimental homebuilt kit.  We will also offer a 65 hp two place cruiser very like the later AG, (shown above). We are saying “very like” because each will incorporate the latest improvements from Dick Turner and some changes based on input from folks like you over the years.

The flight characteristics will not be changed because we consider them to be the best of the best already. The higher performance versions will only be offered as complete kits and some things will be optional on the Part 103 version. When required, all documentation will be included for compliance with the 51% rules of the FAA.
